My work examines the complicity of photographs in the perpetuation of hegemonic systems of visual culture. Specifically, I am interested in using images to develop visual counter culture.

We live in a mass media society where photographs are tools of consumer culture that play a pivotal role within the ways in which we come to understand ourselves and our world socially. I reclaim, repurpose, and re-present images and prompt interrogations of self-hood, presenting them with texts to offer alternative narratives.
